About Me

Nate Boeckman - Your Candidate for Geary County Sheriff

I’m a Kansas native, born in 1979, and raised on my family’s farm in Nemaha County, where my parents still reside. I’m one of seven siblings, and our farm has been a cornerstone of our family for generations.

I’m a proud husband to Amy, my wife of 18 years, and father to three sons, Kaden, Brody, and Bentley. We’ve experienced the joy of watching our children grow and thrive, as well as the heartbreak of losing our daughter Ava in 2008. Her memory continues to inspire me to serve others with compassion and empathy.

I graduated from Centralia High School in 1998 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in 2002. While at K-State, I met my wife Amy, who was born and raised in Junction City. We married in 2006 and have made Geary County our home.

After graduating from K-State, I began my career at the Riley County Police Department in 2003, where I’ve served in various roles, including:

Currently, I supervise the Criminal Intelligence Unit, where I oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of critical information to support law enforcement operations. I also have several years of experience as a sergeant in the patrol division and investigations division.

As your next Sheriff, I’m committed to building on my experience and passion for service to bring positive change to Geary County. My goals include:

As I continue to raise my family in Geary County, I’m eager to serve my community and drive meaningful change. Although I’ve spent most of my law enforcement career serving a neighboring community, my heart and home are here. I’ve worked closely with the Geary County Sheriff’s office and understand the need for innovative solutions and collaborative leadership. I’m excited to bring my expertise and passion to Geary County and serve as a Sheriff who truly represents and supports our community.

As a leader, it’s important to prioritize the needs of the people above all else. This means listening to and serving the community, rather than catering to special interest groups or political donors. It means finding common ground and solutions, rather than getting bogged down in partisan conflicts and political gridlock. By building bridges and partnerships, we can bring people together and make progress, rather than creating divisions and polarization. By focusing on local issues and needs, we can make a real difference in our community, rather than getting caught up in national political agendas. And by being accountable to the community, we can ensure that our leadership is truly representative and responsible, rather than serving political parties or personal ambition.
